How Does a Person Become a Member of the UU Society of Fairhaven, MA?

Becoming a member of our church involves a three-step process:

1. We ask that you attend our Sunday services and participate in our programs for four to six months (unless you are already a long time Unitarian Universalist transferring from another society/church).

2. We ask that you complete one of the 3-session Orientation to Unitarian Universalism series, which we offer twice a year—once in the fall (usually beginning in October) and once in the spring (usually beginning in February). Following is a description of the series:

Session 1 Unitarian Universalist principles, sources from which we draw inspiration, and our diverse beliefs.
Session 2 Our history and theology of Unitarianism and Universalism.
Session 3 A brief description of our local, national, and international denomination; the governance structure of our Society; the privileges and obligations of membership; the benefits of small groups in our church.

3. If after step 1 and 2 you feel that you would like to be an official member of our church, then simply sign our Membership Book in the presence of the minister and a member of the membership committee.
